David Motari Kills Puppy ?

This video surfaced yesterday of a Marine Corp soldier throwing a puppy off a cliff almost definitely killing or severely crippling it.

UPDATE: I had removed his home address in respect of his family but please post your comments on how you feel about this situation as it seems people have many conflicting views.

UPDATE: A rumor has surfaced that David Motari works for Blackwater Worldwide. A Blackwater official has confirmed that no one depicted in that video is a Blackwater employee or contractor.

UPDATE: David Motari’s “Bebo” profile has been switched to private: people outside of his “friends network” are not authorized to view his profile. He has ignore my repeated requests to confirm or deny that he is the “Motari” depicted in the YouTube video. I will keep you updated as this story develops.

UPDATE: Others have noted, and I agree, that we must await confirmation of the puppy killer’s identity before taking further action. The matter is still under investigation, and we need to confirm identities. Once we have confirmation, we should do everything legally within our power to make the killer’s life a living Hell. But we must await confirmation before taking further action.

David Motari depicted in this picture looks identical to the man posted in the video who is identified as “Motari”; though, with goggles on, it’s hard to make a perfect ID. Here is his “Bebo” profile containing additional pictures.
It could also be the case that the video is fake. This seems highly unlikely, given the low-tech camera used to shoot the footage.

I will keep you updated on the matter.

If David Motari is the puppy killer, he is undoubtedly a sociopath who does not feel remorse or shame. After confirming him as the puppy killer, we must engage in an online campaign to ensure that everyone who does business with or associates with him is warned. The puppy had no choice; humans, through education, will.

And although the person in that video is a dick, you do not know for sure the identity, posting that guys information is wrong.     I do agree that we should be spending our time and resources on more important issues but these are the types of things that these U.S Marines are doing in Iraq. If they are doing this to dogs just imagine what they are doing to the innocent citizens of the country. This is not a post to take priority away from the real battle but rather a way to spread the truth about the horrible things these soldiers are doing.

    I will not say he deserves death penalty, things don’t work like that. I will say, though, that men like him are a disgrace to the US Army and the reason why it has a bad image. I will say that a soldier who doesn’t respect what his uniform stands for should be discharged. I will say that a person in that state of mind should not carry a rifle. And I will say that whatever moron who does this AND publishes it on the internet deserves whatever public reaction ensues.

    If it is indeed him, killing a puppy is not the matter. It’s improper behavior for a representative of the US Army, an open display of random cruelty from a person allowed to carry a gun, and sheer idiocy for filming and posting the offense.

    I have always fully supported the troops and have wished them a safe tour of duty and a safe trip home back to their families that love them. With that said, nothing would give me more joy than for the person who threw that dog to be permanently maimed or disfigured.     For the military to look bad to the public opinion there has to be a public opinion, and to have that you need information flow. That’s the main reason why any irregularity committed by members of the US Armed Forces will get more and harsher feedback than whatever can happen in this or this other dictatorship.

    All in all that’s a good thing. Having the institutions behave for fear of negative public reactions is the basis of democracy I guess.

    That’s as far as airing the video goes. As for personal attacks against his family, it’s not a desirable result, but it’s a predictable and largely unavoidable one.

    The video was taken with the consent of the perpetrator, who even smiled at the camera. It was filmed for somebody else to see, and it was uploaded for that same reason. It was done willingly to get attention, and in that aspect it worked.

    Now, if you do that AND have your personal details available for public view, you were the one looking for trouble.

    I don’t think lynching a person is acceptable, but if you entered a mosque yelling “fuck Allah” and throwing around pieces of lard you would likely receive an aggressive reaction well beyond the extent of the law. It would be illegal, even unfair, but it wouldn’t make you less of an idiot.

    Who are you people to judge this guy you are naming? You say you just report facts, when in fact you are propegating pre-judgement and violence-such a thing leads to actions like depicted in that video. Let authorities do the judging, even they can’t get it 100% all the time with “just the facts”, and usually facts the public is not privy to see. Just because you have a loud voice does not mean you can yell anything you wish. This “kid” is risking his life just by being over there.

    Facts you have from the video:
    1)A puppy is thrown over a cliff (it is NOT fact weather it is alive or dead only speculation, no matter what your assumption is from the sound or knowledge of how mothers carry pups).
    2) Sound like a pupy yelping (it is NOT fact that the puppy tossed is the source of the sound).
    3)A solder makes a sympathetic comment after the puppy disappears over the cliff.
    4) The solder who tossed the puppy seems to repeat the sympathetic comment sarcastically adding a name. (This does NOT prove who the solder in the video is).
    Anything else is pure speculation. If it turns out not to be this kid he has quite the defamation of character suit against you! Just because he is not firing back yet does not prove his guilt-he is on the frontlines of combat, were people want to kill him.

    So if you want to see justice send the video into the military and they will take action and leave it at that. Putting yourself on this soap box is more likely going to do damage to innocent people and you may end up juged yourself, in the long run! If the video is a true representation of the facts this person is being punished (even if just by his current circumstances over there) or will be, by a higher power.

    Just because some westerners treat animals like sacred objects, especially dogs/cats, doesn’t mean all people do. I definitely wouldn’t compare throwing a dog’s corpse, or even killing one, to killing a human.
