Made it home safe and sound from Oshawa and have really been enjoying my time at home back in Glengarry. Been doing quite a bit or partying and have had the chance to see a TON of people I havn’t seen in a while, although there are still a lot more to see. This Christmas doesn’t seem to have the same holiday spirit as past ones but I guess we’ll just blame the weather.
Hope everyone has a safe Christmas. Heres some Whitetails in the snow.
Well even with only about ten hours (maybe that much) of sleep under my belt for the last couple of days it still feels absolutely amazing to be finished exams once again. Who knew they could be so stressful every single time around.
I think I logged more hours for each class in the last week than I did all year. Its said to say but going to class wasn’t really necessary this semester. I’m sure there are a few people out there who will agree with me when I say that learning has changed alot even of the last five years. The information that we once had to go into a lecture hall at a university to learn is now freely available, on any single piece of this planet, any time we want, thanks to a little something I like to call the Internet. The idea that we need to go to a certain place to learn the information will soon become an ideology of the past, if you haven’t already made it one. I would like to expand a little more on the topic but just too damn tired and I’m not even sure if any of what I’m writing now makes any sense lol.
I’m going to take a nap before I have to grab the bus to the Via station. 3:40 departure time with arrival in Cornwall at 6:38. Two hours and fifty eight minutes is a KILLER time to make it home in. Now if only we had high-speed trains in Canada.
Another wonderful night of studying is upon us, accounting this time around. The exam is only at 3:30pm tomorrow afternoon which is a million time better than the other four 8am starts that I got stuck with. I don’t this exam is going to overly hard as long as I study enough of the right material. Our prof. gave us a lot of information as to what to expect from the exam so using that in preparing will be greatly helpful.
I’m not to sure if I mentioned this already but my schedule for next semester is looking a lot more encouraging than the one this semester. From the looks of it I will not be having class on Friday or Monday (can someone say 4 day weekend every week?) and only one night class as opposed to the four I got stuck with this semester. For anyone who has never made a university schedule, or college for that matter, I would highly recommend that you don’t take the night class approach as you will end up hating yourself for it very quickly. You may think that getting up later in the day is the greatest thing ever but the novelty wears off pretty quick and you just end up feeling useless haha.
Unfortunately for me the funds have been running short as of late and I’m not forced to find another source of income. I have a nice check from Adbrite waiting for me whenever I get home for the holidays but I imagine a lot of that will be gone by the end of the holidays. I’ve been trying not to rely on the parents for money this year as they are already paying enough for me. So far it has gone well. I’ve only had to get money from them once and just enough to hold me over till my next payment came through. My current sources of income are Adbrite and PayPopUp. These two sites are currently serving ads on my nature wallpapers site. Advertising provides a nice steady stream of income but the amount is very small (usually around $3.50 / day). I am in the process of working on a couple of different projects that will hopefully allow me to add a couple of zero’s to that amount in the near future.
A new music service launched the other day (2 days ago?) and from my first couple of experiences with it I don’t have anything but good things to say about it. I’ve already discovered a load of new indie style music. The site is similar to digg in the way you promote stories to the homepage except they have added a point system where you are awarded points based on certain actions you take on the site (voting for songs, listening to the rack). Whenever you vote or ‘bump’ a song you are charged a certain amount of those points (5). There are different levels you can reach and other features to keep the site interactive. By far the greatest feature of the site is the ability to browse anywhere on the site but still keep the music playing as you move from page to page, truly unique!
I posted the photos from the weekend up on flickr so check those out in the November 2007 set.
Bryce came to Oshawa on Friday night in the last stop of his little trip across Eastern and Southern Ontario. From what I can remember he went to Kingston, St-Catherines, London, Toronto and Oshawa. Pretty good tour I would say.
Jess, B.B Gun and the best beer in the world woot!!
Bryce and Darren taking out Brett’s staples. I videotaped the operation but need to get my camera cable back before I can upload it, maybe later tonight.
Some of you may notice that I’ve done some work on the site in the last couple of days and I think its looking a little bit better. Its still a work in process, as it will always be, so for now I like it.
The little iMac to the left will refresh with a new image every time you navigate to a different page.
There is now six photos from my flickr feed instead of three and they will be updated much more frequently now.
The YouTube videos on the top right of the site will be ones that I upload to my account so be sure to check back often for new ones.
Watching the hockey game and having a couple beer tonight before I crack down and study two days for my accounting exam on Friday.

This is a re-make of the Grand Theft Auto 4 Trailer done by my friend Matt Bedard for one of his gaming courses. The first time I watched it I didn’t even realize it was the voices of Matt and Al. Do you wanna dance?
Here’s a video I thought would make some people laugh, its not what you think so just watch it.
Bryce is coming down to visit Brett and I in Oshawa tomorrow. He’s been making a big tour and visiting a bunch of people off at school. It will probably be one of the last times to party before the Christmas holidays because exams start up on Monday with Intro to Operations Management. I need to review quite a bit for it but I’m not to worried about it. Just chilling out tonight, playing some ps3 and going to try and work on the websites a little bit.
going to go check out some weights. anyone workout regularly? I'm looking for intense upper body exercises (mainly triceps). 40 mins ago
